The BYD SEALION 8 showcases a bold new design direction for BYD, introducing the latest evolution of the 'Dragon Face' aesthetics that is designed to be as imposing as it is distinction. At the rear the 'Bamboo Rhythm' LED tail lights recall Chinese weaving methods, delicately combining traditional design elements with cutting-edge technology.

The BYD SEALION 8 offers two flavours of Super Hybrid – DM-i for efficient and intelligent driving or DM-p for the ultimate performance. Both powertrains use the latest generation of BYD’s Dual-Mode 5.0 technology, with a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine that is one of the most thermally efficient in the world.

DM-powerful

The DM-p all-wheel drive really lets you have it all. With intelligent motor decoupling, the SEALION 8 DM-p can offer fuel consumption as low as 1.0L/100km (NEDC cycle, with sufficient SOC). Switch into sport mode and unlock 359kW/675Nm of grunt and 0-100km/h completed in just 4.9 seconds.

DiSus-C Intelligent Damping

The BYD SEALION 8 DM-p comes equipped with DiSus-C – an adaptive suspension technology that actively adjusts damping in milliseconds to balance comfort and handling across every driving scenario. It controls lateral body roll, pitch, and offers incredible vertical vibration isolation.

Blade Battery

The SEALION 8 offers BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery, in either 19kWh (DM-i) or 35.6kWh (DM-p) capacities. This new generation battery offers peak discharge of 322 kW, 34% lower energy loss, and 30% faster heat-response rate ensuring consistent performance and reliability in all conditions.

The BYD SEALION 8's interior takes refinement and comfort to a new level. From high-end materials used throughout, minimalist design elements, and the latest in-car technology, it all feels decidedly more premium than you'd expect an SUV with up to 1,960 litres of luggage space.

Ultra comfortable

The SEALION 8’s front seats are power adjustable heated and ventilated, so you’re ready for summer heat or winter chills. Three-zone climate control with air vents across all three rows is standard across the range.

10-point massaging seats

The SEALION 8 Premium takes luxury to the next level, with genuine premium leather upholstery and a 10-point massage function for the front seats and two middle-row outboard seats. Those two middle-row seats also score heating and ventilation.

21-Speaker surround sound

The SEALION 8 Premium immerses your senses with an upgraded premium sound system, boasting 21 speakers for an high-definition sound no matter where you're seated.

The 26-inch ultra-wide heads-up display, 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, and 15.6-inch infotainment screen all run the latest operating system with intuitive controls and ultra-smart voice recognition. It’s also the first BYD in Australia to offer Nap, Camping, and Car Wash mode.

9 airbags with curtains that extend to the third row, a body made of TRB hot-stamped steel for outstanding rigidity and protection, and the latest ADAS systems are all designed to keep you and your loved ones safe.
